Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all educational institutions in Nepal have been instructed to close since 24th March 2019.
As a result, all children and teenagers have been staying at home since. As a collaborative effort with our volunteering partners and schools, virtual learning has been conducted for said individuals. Although virtual learning has greatly benefitted children during the long lockdown, the effort is still inadequate due to Nepal’s poor internet connection and technology.
As the COVID-19 pandemic eases, parents were questioning their local governments when will schools reopen in Nepal in 2020. Consequently, the Nepal government has decided to authorize the resumption of educational institutions in collaboration with parents all over the nation.
When schools reopen in Nepal after the lockdown, most of the parents were prepared to send their children to school again. Similarly, the SCIF board committee has also decided to send children who obey the safety percussions regulated by WHO and Nepal Government back to school.
Amidst the queries of when will schools reopen in Nepal in 2020, the school reopening date in Nepal in year 2020 is set to 16th December 2020. Since then, children are required to attend classes physically.
Our children attend two educational institutions. The juniors attend a private boarding school (SHUVAKAMANA ACADEMY) while the seniors attend a public school, (SHREE TAUDAHA HIHER SECONDARY SCHOOL).
As schools reopen in Kathmandu, our institution is in dire need of financial support or materials to subsidize the children’s schooling. Any forms of support such as school uniforms, stationery, and cash to fund monthly fees, examination fees and etc are greatly appreciated. As reference, the cost of monthly fee is NPR. 1500.00 or 15.00 USD per child.
Your contribution is highly appreciated as it will aid a child to continue his or her education. This collaborative effort will ease the process of schools reopening in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2020 and even into 2021. We will share some pictures of the commencement of school activities after schools reopen in Nepal. Thank you.
