Nagarkot Trek | 2D1N | US$180 Per Pax

SCIF @ Volunteer Work Nepal offers special Nagarkot 2D1N Trek packages to our volunteers and guests. This package covers your entire trek trip, and 100% of the profits will go to the running of the orphanage.

Nagarkot Trek is the easiest and safest trek in Nepal, and it takes the least amount of effort. The Nagarkot Hill (1,800m) is located near Kathmandu, and is a vantage point for viewing amazing sunrises and sunsets.

And if you need a little more incentive to get started on this super easy hike, the trekking trail up the hill offers stunning views of snow-peaked mountains such as Langtang (7,234m), Gauri Shankar (7,134m), Mt. Everest (8,848m) and more. 🙂

In this trek package, you will also get to visit two famous UNESCO World Heritage monuments, namely Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Temple.

Nagarkot Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu to Nagarkot

12.00pm: Pick up from your hotel and drive to Jarsingpauwa

01.00pm: Arrive in Jarsingpauwa. Nagarkot Trek begins.

Description: The trek from Jarsing Pauwa to Nagarkot is an easy one. You will encounter only a little uphill trek at the final stage. On this trail, you will get to enjoy panoramic views of the Everest range of mountains on your left side. This is very peaceful trekking trail. You will meet many school children and villagers on your trek.

NOTE: You only have to carry your own belongings such as cash, camera, water bottle, sunglasses, chocolates, etc. This is a short 4-hour trek near Kathmandu. Your bigger luggages will be transferred to your hotel in Nagarkot by your driver. You will trek with your trekking guide.

04.30pm: Arrive in Nagarkot hotel and check in. You will have tea/coffee until sunset.

05.00pm: Sunset will be between 5pm to 7pm, depending on the season.

06.00pm: Dinner at the hotel. Rest and relax after dinner.

Day 2: Nagarkot to Kathmandu

05.00am: Wake up and prepare for the Everest Sunrise. NOTE: You will be able to enjoy the panoramic sunrise view of snow-capped mountains from your hotel rooftop. You will get to see spectacular views of Mount Everest and the Langtang range of mountains

OPTIONAL: We will drive you to Nagarkot Sunrise View Point Tower if you so desire, just let your tour guide know. There is no extra charge for this.

07.00am: Back to hotel for breakfast

07.45am: Check out and drive to Changu Narayan Temple

08.45 am: Arrive in Changu Narayan Temple. NOTE: You will have 1 hour to visit this temple.

Description: Changu Narayan Temple is the oldest temple in the Kathmandu valley. It was built in the 4th century. The temple is adorned by some of the best specimens of stone, wood, and metal craft in the valley. The temple stands as the epitome of culture, religion, history, and faith of the Kathmandu valley. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

09.45 am:Drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Description: Bhaktapur Durbar Square(UNESCO World Heritage Site) is an assortment of pagoda and Shikhara-style temples grouped around a fifty-five-window palace of brick and wood. The square is part of a charming valley. It highlights the idols of ancient kings perched on top of stone monoliths, the guardian deities looking out from their sanctuaries, the wood carvings in very place – struts, lintels, tympanums, gateways and windows – all seem to form a well orchestrated symphony.

12.45pm: Drive to Kathmandu

01.30pm: Arrive at Black Olive Restaurant in Thamel or SCIF orphanage for lunch

03.00pm:Drop off at your hotel or SCIF orphanage after lunch. Your tour ends here.
